Cannes Film Festival 11th - 22nd May 2011

Painting on location during the Film Festival, capturing on canvas the excitement and atmosphere of the amazing festival. It is the fifth year that Stuttle has attended the festival and each year his paintings are cutting through to the true essence of what life during the festival is really like.

"I love Cannes and the surrounding area normally so relaxed and peaceful, but for 10 days a year when the festival happens! Its an amazing and very intense week with people coming from all over the world, the buzz is incredible. I am never lost for subject matter, so many ideas! paintings are everywhere and you really get the feeling that anything is possible. A perfect environment to transfer energy and atmosphere to canvas. Really excited this year as one of my heros Mr Robert De Niro is president of the jury, I will be interested to see what choices he makes." Richard Stuttle
