Painted in 2008 as the first in my Ski series, I was interested in positioning and movement with style, sky and minimal focus. The viewers eye is drawn around the canvas by lines from aspects of the skiers positioning, with the loose backdrop and suggestion of tree tops the viewer is transported to their memories of the mountains making the picture accessible to everyone and complete the paintings experience.
